    About Set Point Mental Edge

    Meet Austin

     

    Hi, I'm Austin Davids, founder of Set Point Mental Edge.

    Sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From competing as a tennis player to coaching high school athletes and now working as a mental performance coach, I've experienced firsthand the challenges that come with competition. I've learned that talent and hard work are incredibly important, but the mental side of performance often makes the difference.


    I earned my Bachelor's degree in Performance and Sport Psychology from Grand Canyon University and am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership at the University of Missouri. Alongside my education, I've had the opportunity to coach and work with athletes across a variety of sports, helping them build confidence, improve focus, communicate effectively, handle pressure, and develop resilience.


    My passion is helping athletes enjoy their sport while becoming the best competitors, and people, they can be. Whether you're striving for a varsity spot, competing for a state championship, or simply looking to play with more confidence, I'm here to help you develop the mental skills to perform at your best.

    No two athletes are exactly alike, which is why no two coaching sessions are the same.


    At Set Point Mental Edge, every athlete receives an individualized approach based on their personality, sport, goals, and unique challenges. Rather than offering quick fixes or generic advice, we work together to develop practical mental skills that can be applied in practices, competitions, and everyday life.


    My coaching philosophy is built around growth, trust, and collaboration. Sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to each athlete's needs. Some sessions involve activities that teach specific mental performance skills, while others are discussion-based and focus on navigating current challenges. As athletes grow, our conversations and strategies evolve with them.


    My goal isn't simply to help athletes perform better next week. It's to equip them with mental skills they'll use throughout their athletic careers and beyond.

    Getting started is simple! Whether you contact me through the website, email, text message, or social media, the first step is simply reaching out. Once I hear from you, I'll send a brief athlete questionnaire to complete before our consultation.

    The questionnaire is designed to help me better understand the athlete before we ever meet. It includes questions about goals, confidence, motivation, pressure, communication, strengths, and current challenges. This allows us to make the most of our time together and ensures every athlete receives a personalized experience. 

    Step 3: Free Consultation

    Step 4: Individualized Coaching Sessions

     After the questionnaire is completed, we'll schedule a free 30-45 minute consultation. During this meeting, we'll review the questionnaire together, discuss the athlete's experiences, answer any questions, and determine whether Set Point Mental Edge is the right fit. There is absolutely no obligation to continue after the consultation.

    If we decide to move forward together, we'll schedule the first session. Every session is tailored to the athlete's unique needs, goals, and sport. Some sessions may include interactive activities designed to strengthen specific mental performance skills, while others may be more discussion-based as we work through current challenges or situations the athlete is experiencing. No two athletes are the same, so no two coaching sessions are exactly alike.

     Mental performance is a skill that develops over time. As athletes continue to grow, sessions evolve with them. Together, we'll continue building confidence, improving focus, strengthening communication, handling pressure, and developing the mental skills needed to perform at their best both in competition and in life.
